The premiere of the documentary film “Hidden Buds of a Better Society” will be held on Friday.
The documentary, which was created through the project “Development and support for the development of sustainable models of employment of vulnerable groups in the Urban Area of Pula”, deals with the employment of persons with disabilities. The entire project is implemented with the aim of increasing the employability of vulnerable groups through the creation of preconditions for the employment of persons from vulnerable groups, primarily by raising awareness of the importance of social inclusion of all groups in one society, one community. Additionally, special attention is directed towards reducing discrimination, considering that it is recognized as a serious obstacle to the social inclusion of vulnerable groups, especially through employment.
Through this project, activities are carried out to empower and prepare vulnerable groups for easier employment, activities to prepare and raise awareness among employers about employment opportunities for vulnerable groups, as well as their networking and potential matching. Mentors will be trained and paid for accompanying people from vulnerable groups to work to facilitate their adjustment and help them adapt and overcome difficulties in the first few months of employment. Furthermore, as part of this project, the educational curriculum “Manager and management of a social enterprise” will be created, as well as the education of future social entrepreneurs, social innovation workshops, and the Social Impact HUB activity program. In addition to all this, a number of PR activities are planned with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of social inclusion of vulnerable groups through a media campaign, short documentary film, video content, public events, and cooperation with influencers.
The project, with a total value of HRK 2,201,232.00, was fully financed from the European Social Fund through the Operational Program Effective Human Resources, and as part of the Integrated Territorial Investments (ITU mechanism) for the Urban Area of Pula.
The project holder is the Municipality of Marčana, and the partners are: the Foundation for the Promotion of Partnership and Development of Civil Society, the Association of the Blind of the Region of Istria, the Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of the Region of Istria, the Association of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities of Istria, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of the Region of Istria, the Association of Cerebral Palsy of the Region of Istria. The donor of financial supportis the European Social Fund and the project lasts from 5/28/2021. until May 28, 2023. and is carried out in the Urban area of Pula.
